Eddy started a church

Eddy works in particular with a church and school he founded in Delmas, a section of Port-au-Prince. It was in late 1996 that they were able to move into the larger building they’ve now bought with our help and are using after extensive remodeling and upkeep. In a January 19, 2005 note, Eddy reports the church/school building was expanded. “We now have room for about 200 more people. We know this will again soon be too small. It’s surely better for now! We were able to add a balcony which seats 40. The baptistry is now inside. Last Sunday our attendance at the 6:00 a.m. service was 450, with 250 here for the 9:00 a.m. service. Yes, we’re thrilled by continued growth.

This year started with great blessings, with 15 baptisms and 30 new members. The church in Limonade is also growing. Attendance there is 90 now. The preacher, Edner Augustin got married last December. Both he and his wife are on fire working for the Lord in many ways.”

”I really think the bell has now rung for church planting through PCM. Several years ago a very talented young man came from Gonaives to Port-au-Prince to attend Bible College. A good pianist and a wonderful Sunday School teacher, his name is Mathias Romeus. He is humbly capable. Mathias graduated from Mahanaim Bible Institute three years ago and got married a few months later.

Some months ago the Lord put on his heart to start a church in a village called Moge, about three hours from Port-au-Prince. This church has been turned over to us. The elders at the mother church have greeted this idea and have encouraged me to share this news with all brothers and sisters for prayer and further support. As of now there are 15 people meeting in a home for Bible study just as we did at Delmas Christian Church with 13 people in 1990.”
